Rowe, American Red Cross to Host Blood Drive Aug. 27
August 13, 2026
HARRISBURG – State Rep. David H. Rowe (R-Snyder/Union/Mifflin/Juniata) is partnering with the American Red Cross to host a blood drive at Rockland Academy on Thursday, Aug. 27, from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at its campus located at 76 Paxtonville Road, Middleburg. Rowe’s office will also have state-related information for constituents who are interested in learning about programs and resources.
The American Red Cross reports that someone in the United States needs blood or platelets every two seconds. Donors play a critical role in ensuring hospitals have the lifesaving blood products needed for patients facing accidents, surgeries, cancer treatments, and other urgent medical situations.
“Earlier this summer, the Red Cross announced we are facing a national blood crisis,” said Rowe. “This is only the second one in the history of the organization, marking a dire need for blood donations, which have fallen to a four-year low.
“I am hopeful many constituents will participate in this drive to help resupply the Red Cross with the blood needed to save lives.”
Registration is required to give blood. To reserve a donation time, please sign up at redcrossblood.org/give.html/find-drive.
For more information, please contact Rowe’s office at 570-837-0052.
