White, Policy Committee to Hold Hearing on Waste, Fraud, and Abuse in Philadelphia Public Schools

HARRISBURG— House Republican Caucus Chairwoman Rep. Martina White (R-Philadelphia), Policy Committee Chairman David H. Rowe (R-Snyder/Union/Mifflin/Juniata), and other lawmakers will host a public hearing to investigate reports of waste, fraud, and abuse within the School District of Philadelphia. The hearing will take place at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 19, at the Community College of Philadelphia.

White, who recently launched PSDoversight.com, is leading the charge to expose dysfunction in the Philadelphia School District and give a voice to families who have long called for accountability and reform. The site encourages those who have witnessed mismanagement, waste, or abuse within the Philadelphia School District – or those who have ideas to improve schools, reduce inefficiencies, or enhance student outcomes – to submit input.

“Philadelphia families deserve a school system that works for them—not against them,” said White. “Our children’s future depends on a well-managed, transparent education system that puts students first. I launched PSDoversight.com to provide a platform where families and educators can report their concerns and demand answers. This hearing is the next step in ensuring taxpayer dollars are being used effectively and ethically in our public schools.”
