HARRISBURG – Grant funding was awarded to numerous first responder companies that serve the 85th District under the PA Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services Grant Program, according to Rep. David Rowe (R-Snyder/Union/Mifflin/Juniata).
Twenty-seven fire companies and ambulance squads serving Rowe’s district are recipients of the grants administered by the Office of the State Fire Commissioner. The funding can be used for construction or renovations, equipment purchases and repairs, and existing debt reduction.
“First responders deserve our full support, and these grant awards are just one way to demonstrate our appreciation without spending General Fund tax dollars. Many of the companies in my district are run by volunteers and need these dollars to make upgrades so they can safely serve our communities,” said Rowe. “Thank you to all who protect and serve!”

The funding amounts are contingent on the recipients filing their grant agreements with the Office of State Fire Commissioner.
