HARRISBURG—The Mifflin County Academy of Science and Technology was awarded a state Competitive Equipment Grant, according to state Rep. David Rowe (R-Snyder/Union/Mifflin/Juniata). The technical school is located in the 85th Legislative District, which Rowe represents.
“I am always excited to see opportunities for students at career and technical schools expand,” said Rowe. “Occupations in the trades are monumentally important, and it’s critical that we provide those coming into the workforce with the best training and equipment to train with available. This grant will improve access to cutting-edge equipment to prepare for high-demand, high-paying careers in the trades, which will set our prospective workforce up for success with family-sustaining careers in the community.”
The Mifflin County Academy of Science and Technology will receive $83,200 under the Competitive Equipment Grant program. The school is one of 55 to receive an award under this program.
