HARRISBURG?–?The Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority this week approved $1.8 million in funding to help Lewis Township make upgrades and expanded its current wastewater treatment plant, according to Rep. David Rowe?(R-Snyder/Union).

“Lewis Township’s wastewater treatment plan and collection system has reached the end of its useful life, and these dollars will not only upgrade but expand the current system,” Rowe said. “Upon completion, the new system will serve additional households in the township.”

The project is consistent with land used for planning and farmland preservation efforts. The new treatment technology will follow the Virginia Initiative Process, and the hydraulic capacity will increase from 33,500 gallons-per-day to 44,000 gallons-per-day.
