HARRISBURG - Rep. David Rowe (R-Snyder/Union) announced that the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) approved a 2021 Boating Facility Grant for Faylor Lake boat launch improvements.

“As we work to rebuild the tourism industry in Central Pennsylvania, this exciting project will give local residents more options for outdoor recreation and attract travelers,” said Rowe. “I am thankful to the PFBC for recognizing the value of such a project for Faylor Lake and the surrounding community.”

“Great news for outdoor recreation in Snyder County,” said Snyder County Commissioner Adam Ewig. “This is an exciting process. As planning continues for development, it is encouraging for additional funding to be applied to this project. This grant will help expedite progress and hopefully boost interest with results.”

“The county is excited to receive the grant,” said Snyder County Commissioner Chuck Steininger. “This will definitely help in moving our vision forward for Faylor Lake! We feel the lake will become a destination spot not only for residents of Snyder Country, but also people traveling from other areas.”

"We continue to develop plans to have a great outdoor venue for families,” said Snyder County Commissioner Joe Kantz. “This past year has proven that Faylor Lake is a valuable recreation spot for bird watching, kayaking, fishing, hiking and more. This grant will help us take this site to the next level. “

Funds for the Boating Facility Grant Program are derived primarily from boat registration fees, state motorboat fuels tax and restricted revenue accounts, if applicable. In certain instances, federal aid is also approved.
