HARRISBURG – Rep. David H. Rowe (R-Snyder/Union) today released the following statement in response to the governor’s unilateral action to commit Pennsylvania to the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI).
“The governor’s continued hostility toward our booming natural gas industry is puzzling. In recent years, Pennsylvania has seen unprecedented economic growth having rapidly switched from being an importer of energy to the second-largest energy exporting state in the nation. By unilaterally enacting this new wave of burdensome regulations, the governor will cripple our burgeoning energy sector, drive up energy costs and force family-sustaining jobs out of Pennsylvania and into more business-friendly states.
“I can only imagine what the farmers, miners, engineers and other hard-working citizens of Snyder and Union counties who depend on the energy industry are thinking when they see the governor put such an extreme policy into practice without any input from his constituents through their legislators.”
