Rowe Supports House Passing Constitutional Carry Legislation
HARRISBURG?–?Rep. David Rowe (R-Snyder/Union) announced today that the House of Representatives passed constitutional carry legislation, which he supports.
Senate Bill 565, sponsored by Sen. Cris Dush (R-Cameron/Clearfield/Clinton/Elk/Jefferson/Mckean/Potter/Tioga), would protect the rights under the Second Amendment and Article 1, Sec. 21, of the state Constitution for legal gun owners. The bill would add Pennsylvania to the list of 21 states allowing concealed carry for legal gun owners without the need to obtain a permit.
“Our constitutional right to bear arms is clearly laid out in both the Constitution of the United States of America as well as the Constitution of the great Commonwealth of Pennsylvania,” Rowe said. “Adding yet another bureaucratic hurdle and financial burden to law-abiding gun owners who have already passed the requisite background check to purchase a firearm is a clear infringement of those rights.”
The bill now heads to the governor’s office for his signature.
